IKIGAI are committed to giving back

We believe that we can make a difference, and that every little bit does help, that is why we are committed to a number of initiatives which have a positive impact on the planet and its communities.

IKIGAI is about changing the mindset of people, creating a shift, so that we are more aware, consume differently, and attempt to live with a positive impact on our surroundings based on the decisions we make every day.

We directly link our success to the projects we fund so the better we do, the more we can do. It is the circle of giving – by accompanying the IKIGAI community on each of their individual journeys we are also contributing to the positive impact of the communities around the world and, ultimately, the planet itself.

At IKIGAI, by looking after you, we create the opportunity to look after others.

IKIGAI is proud and honoured to be part of 1% for the Planet, which allows each and every purchase to directly contribute to a positive impact on the planet.

1% for the Planet is a global movement inspiring businesses and individuals to support environmental solutions through annual membership and everyday actions. 1% for the Planet advise on giving strategies, certify donations, and amplify the impact of their network.

1% for the Planet collaborate with individual and business members to identify environmental organisations that will make the greatest impact and align with their giving goals. They certify that every dollar contributed goes to a vetted, trusted nonprofit.

1% for the Planet members have given hundreds of millions of dollars to the environment, and their nonprofit partners are doing the hard work of restoring our planet for the future.

As part of our partnership with 1% for the Planet, we have chosen to specifically support Coral Guardian. Coral reefs are dying all around the world. Global warming, coral mining, pollution, disease and destructive fishing practices all threaten the life and longevity of our coral reefs.

Coral reefs support the highest marine biodiversity in the world, and have an estimated economic impact of $375 billion a year (IUCN Coral). Their demise would be harmful to both the communities that rely them for their livelihood, and the marine species that rely on them for life.

Coral Guardian is a French nonprofit international solidarity organisation that are dedicated to the conservation of coral reefs all over the globe. Alongside the conservation of coral ecosystems, the organisation are committed to raising awareness, scientific research and the enhancement of marine ecosystems.

We are also committed to developing a number of further initiatives to make sure our impact on our planet is a positive one, and we align ourself with brands that do the same. We look for trusted certifications on the products we sell, such as NaTrue, Cruelty Free and The Soil Association Cosmos Organic.

When it comes to our extended community, IKIGAI aim to help there too. We get involved with local organisations and their projects, such as city tree-planting schemes, mentoring programmes and beach clean ups.

We are currently working on a full CSR Policy which will be implemented towards the end of 2018.
