Tell us a little bit about yourself...

A little about myself, well, foremost I am a being of light as we all are and my soul mission on this Earth is to share that with you, each of you. To offer you the chance to feel the light within; to feel connected to your mind, body, spirit and live a divine and worthy life – that which is our birthright. In definition, I am conduit; Reiki Master, Quartz Crystal Sound Bowl Therapist, Meditation Guide, Intuitive, Energy Worker, Metaphysician, Writer and Painter. In the present moment, I am serving my students/clients and communities in the North East of America, France, London, Greece and Israel – via one-on-one sessions, workshops, seminars, training programs, corporate wellness and in 2019 I will be offering my first two retreats!

Do you have a nickname ?

Some like to call me UMA GAIA, since it is the name of my company, my ethos and embodies my spirit as a conduit.

Where do you call home ?

Home, has always been a transient word for me – home is where I am in my heart – home is when I am in ultimate alignment with my mind, body and spirit. Home is where I feel connected to the culture, land, history and community of a place – home could be; Greece, home could be; Israel – both countries I feel deeply from my roots to my crown. However, home in the physical sense, is bi-continental at the moment, I am living between NYC and the South of France.

What defines home for you ?

My home is my sanctuary – in it, you will find lots of art, crystals, collected mementos from cultures that represent different forms of consciousness, little hand paintings from every country I have travelled to and lots of heirlooms passed down from different family members. My friends like to say my home is a magical museum; everything has a meaning, a story and a place.

Every morning, I palo santo, sage and cleanse each room with ancient Reiki symbols and my sound bowls. And in the evenings, I like to light candles for expansion.

Who or what do you turn to when you have had a bad day ?

First, I turn to myself. I ask myself why I am feeling this way, what is the source of the “bad day” – what did I do to contribute to it and what is the lesson. To me, a bad day just represents whacky inner and outer alignment. I take time to be alone, reflect and let go. When more comfort is needed, I turn to Yamin, my husband; he holds, soothes me and reminds me that everything is more than okay – he is my angel.

Tell us about your Health + Wellness journey...

Oooeuf! Where to begin, this is going to be a book one day so I will give you the cliff-note version. Ever since I was born, I knew in my heart and crown being a conduit of light was my purpose. It started with visions, seeing auras, lucid dreams, spirit connections since I was 3 or 4. Always drawn to crystals, consciousness and something from above.

At the same time my childhood was a combination of a rainbow and a massive storm. I was gifted some severe childhood traumas for me to learn from and grow from and eventual heal completely. These were my tests. As a conduit you don’t learn in the light, you learn in the darkness, you learn to become the light, to fully forgive after doing the work, the real work. And this is when you can truly begin to hold space for someone else and their traumas whatever they may be.

When I was 18 and moved to NYC, I began the real healing process and studying process, my dedication to self was relentless. I studied and worked with numerous healers, conduits and shamans, courses, workshops, trainings – however the biggest conduit was myself – it was as if I knew everything already but I had to go through the process to heal the physical pains of this lifetime. As it were the Phoenix Rises from the Ashes… Stay tuned for the rest in my upcoming book!

Where is your favourite Health + Wellness destination ?

Hmm! Out of all the places I have been so far, I would say Greece hands down. But also my home in the mountains of the South of France and really any body of of water.

What's been your best Health + Wellness experience ?

Yes, I know this may sound generic but I am going to say it anyway! Every experience has been the best, each place, teacher, community, offering gives me something new and teaches me different lessons. I can not compare them.

What is your daily Health + Wellness routine ?

Exercise: Yoga,  breath-work and running in the mountains.

Nutrition: I cook all my meals, everyday twice to three times a day. Always veggies, fruits and some starch and at times a fish or meat. We like to get our groceries fresh from the farmers market.

Spirituality: Self Reiki, meditation, intention work, sound bath therapy.

What are your favourite Health + Wellness essentials ?

Beauty: My dear friend Kiera has a great Ayurvedic line that I live by; Sundara Holistic.

Nutrition: Good food, an array of vitamins and the Sun!

Athleisure wear: Electric & Rose.

Other: Casa Fondanta, Maria Novella in Firenze Acqua Di Rose (the best rose water ever!)

What's your go to health food ?

Any kind of fruit what so ever!

What's your devilish indulgence ?

Cheese cheese cheese and bread bread bread.

What's your favourite yoga position ?

Happy Baby Pose.

What makes you laugh ?

I love comedy, I love to turn anything into a stand-up. My best friend Kelly and I are the queens of this, when we get together anything can be funny and we will laugh for hours on end.

What do you fear ?

The only thing I fear is fear itself.

How do you find serenity ?

By going within. Or by going into the Sea.

What is it about IKIGAI Global that appeals to you ?

The community aspect, the realness, the authenticity. The Thought Leaders, the wildly appealing aesthetic of all IKIGAI platforms and, most of all, the founder, Johannes, is an inspiration; he has a true vision and is going for it.

What is the one book that has helped you discover your path and yourself ?

A Course in Miracles by Helen Schucman and Living a Course in Miracles by Jon Mundy.

What has been the hardest thing to accept ?

Full on acceptance of everything in every moment, acceptance of what is and what isn’t, acceptance of the past and the present and full acceptance of self. Acceptance isn’t something you can half do, it is all or nothing.

How, what and why have you changed over the last 10 years ?

So much has transformed, I am softer, I am confident, I embrace every ounce of me. I forgiven forgiven forgiven, I have stepped into my own power, I have felt the deepest love I have ever felt before, and so much more. I have changed because I was ready, and I wanted more for myself, I wanted to truly live, to be free, to be in alignment to finally be me without any hesitation or boundaries.

What do you do to make the world a more sustainable place ?

I smile at strangers, I give give give give give, I carve out time for those who don’t have any. I recycle, I never throw trash on the Earth, I unplug as much as I can, I give big hugs and spread love. I thank the Earth, the Sky and the Sea everyday as well as the Moon and the Sun.

What would you like to share that informs / inspires / empowers you ?

Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson.

Do you have a good luck charm ?

I don’t believe in luck, I believe in the Universe, divine timing and law of attraction! However, I carry an array of crystals on me depending on the intention I am working with!

Who or what inspires you ?

Life inspires me, the way a flower blossoms in the Spring, the way a fig tree bears fruit at the end of the summer, the way the wave continues on and on, the way my husband loves and adores me without bounds, the way a new student feels after a workshop… Inspiration is in every moment you just have tune your perception to see it.

What is your mantra ?

Depends on the day, I work with so many intentions. But one of my favourites is “Forgive Yourself and Set Yourself Free”.

And finally, what is your 'ikigai' ?

Illuminating the Light within You.
